Batchelor Institute specialises in training and tertiary education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, mainly from rural and remote communities in Northern Australia.
The Institute is based in Batchelor (approximately 100km south of Darwin), and has campuses and study centres throughout the Northern Territory, including Darwin, Alice Springs, and a number of remote communities. A free commuter service is normally available for staff traveling between Palmerston, some rural areas and Batchelor.
Some advertised positions may be identified for appointment of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons in accordance with s.57 of the Northern Territory Anti-Discrimination Act. The Institute reserves the right not to make an appointment, or to vary the type of appointment. Qualification Requirements – Academic Staff
To ensure that the Institute meets its Quality requirements it is necessary for you to forward with your application a copy of all your formal qualifications, including VET National Qualifications, VET Statement of Attainments or academic transcripts. Certified qualifications (certified by either a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner of Oaths) will be required before commencement if you have been successful with your application.
All Vocational Education and Training (VET) Academic staff members must possess a TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Police Records Check
All new appointments to the Institute require staff to undertake a Police Records Check by completing a NT Policy Authority to Release Criminal History (Including Spent Convictions). This form and additional information is available on the NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services Website
Please note: People and Culture is unable to make an appointment to the advertised position until the completed NT Policy Authority to Release Criminal History Form has been returned by the Police to the Institute to cover the recommended appointee.
Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
