Batchelor Institute would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sovereign people of the lands on which our campuses are located. As we share our knowledge, teaching and learning and engage in research practices within this Institution and/or conduct business with a variety of external agencies and organisations, we must always pay respect to the sovereign status of our hosts. First Nations languages Learning and Teaching at Batchelor Desert Peoples Centre Campus (Alice Springs)

The week of the 9th September 2024 was a busy one at  Batchelor Institute Desert Peoples Centre campus with workshops in the new Certificate III and IV in Learning/Teaching a First Nations Language for speakers of Anmatyerr, Warlpiri, Luritja and Eastern, Central and Western Arrernte including teachers from Ltyentye Apurte, Ti Tree and Yipirinya Schools. These certificates are being offered by Batchelor Institute. There was also a workshop on Interpreting and Translating, being run by National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI). Added to the Batchelor graduation, the place was abuzz with First Nations language speakers and activity.
